Good to know

In the loft, two king sized beds with plenty of room to spread out over-look the main living room and the floor to ceiling windows onto the Cascade River. Enjoy a full bathroom on this floor as well as a free little library. Stocked with a wide variety of books, take one, leave one, enjoy one! On the main floor of the house is an open floor plan living room and kitchen. While gazing at the river may occupy your day, in the evening there are a myriad of activities available including tv, board games, cards, wifi and puzzles. Relax with plenty of seating for you and your guests around the wood fired stove and tv. Seating around the dining table for 4-6 and two at the kitchen bar creates areas for different activities for different folks. Cascade River Park and this cabin are off the grid! This means none of the properties here have electricity supplied by a utility company. This property utilizes both solar and gasoline powered automated generator with a battery system. This ensures you will have power for all your needs without having to worry about extra work. The generator will turn on when the need arises. This also means that there is very little ambient light to hide the stars at night. Count the satellites and shooting stars all while listening to the Cascade River flowing by. And very little light when you arrive at the cabin at night! Please be prepared for darkness. There's nothing quite like springtime in the Cascade Mountains. Wild flowers seem to burst from every crevice and waterfalls crowd Cascade River Road. No need to travel far to get the full experience of life in the North Cascades.

Other Details to Note

Because this property is off grid, EV charging is not available. As this property is by the fast-moving Cascade River there is a liability waiver we ask you to sign before booking. Please inquire for more information. The Board of the HOA, in an overabundance of caution, recommends boiling the water before consuming it despite passing Washington department of health testing every month. Please provide your own drinking water.

I loved staying at this house. Even with the minor inconvenience of the Marblemount bridge being closed when we were there (obviously not something the host could control), we had easy access to hiking trails even if they took a little longer to get to than planned. Sarah was proactive about letting me know about the bridge and adjustments for key pick up (even if I did a bad job reading the instructions first time around 😉). She was also really quick to respond when I had questions. The house is 5 minutes from the Lookout Mountain Trail. It’s a butt kicker, but totally worth the climb. Absolutely amazing views and easy to get an early start since it’s so close. The property was beautiful and felt very private. Everything was clean and comfortable. I didn’t want to leave!
